CrossFit Before and After Story: ‘I work in IT and game pretty avidly, so I was stationary quite a bit. I now have a healthy balance that I can feel good about. What helped me was to focus on creating a habit instead of focusing on the results right away.

I could only do 8 push ups at the height of my high school physicality plus I’m a huge socially awkward introvert so I don’t get out much. Haha I think I got addicted to the feeling of pulling something off that I couldn’t do before.

At first I was just trying to survive but now it’s a bit of both. I love weightlifting and I’m practicing daily to get my first muscle up by Christmas but I lean more for the barbell anyday. Just something about solid snatch technique makes me warm and fuzzy

CrossFit Before and After Story: Down 100 lbs! Finally met my goal.

hen I first started I swore I didn’t want “man arms.” But I have always had big arms…better to fill them with muscle than a bunch of loose skin. Now I’m proud to wear tank tops. I actually got groped by a 14 year old boy a few weeks ago when I was running. Tons of people told me they have no idea how he thought it was a good idea to fuck with me haha! Little shit did get away or I would have rearranged his teeth.

rossfit that has shaped my body and helped me gain muscle. Most WLS patients are gaunt and weak when it comes to strength. WLS does not mean I get to eat whatever I want and sit on the couch. Your metabolism adjusts accordingly.

CrossFit Before and After Story: 6 months of CrossFit + Macros tracking + blood, sweat, & tears later… (-60lbs of body fat).

I workout 5 days a week, and on my 2 off days I try to get in physical activities such as hiking, walking, or dancing(eg.salsa).

I have to give the biggest credit of my success to macro tracking, and Inbody assessment. I use LoseIT to track everything I eat. The backsquat program used to make me soooo hungry, like I could eat everything in sight. So I really had to be on top of my nutrition. I haven’t had a perfect run, I yo-yo up and down, as nutrition is the hardest part. But using the InBody assessment scan at my box every 2 weeks to monitor my progress has really been instrumental in keeping me on track even when I sometimes fall off the wagon.

CrossFit Before and After Story: My CF journey started 5 years ago. Feeling a lot better now.

CrossFit Before and After Story: This photo marks 7 weeks since starting crossfit. I’ve never been good at anything physical, no sports as a kid or anything of the sort. It feels so damn good to find something I am sticking to.

Before I became comfortable and external motivation kicked in, I still overshot for 6 days a week. That way if I didn’t make it into my gym, I didn’t feel as bad or defeated because in the grand scheme of things, I was still averaging 3-4 times a week.

Given my track record, if I told myself 3 times a week, I would have averaged 1-2 times a week or less especially if something random disrupted my ability to go one of those days. Which would’ve have ultimately resulted in feeling defeated, wondering why I’m paying for something I’m not using, dropping off the face of the earth and not going anymore.

Crossfit before and after body transformation 50 years old

CrossFit Before and After Story: Started CF at age 46. Now age 50. It’s never too late.

I credit three things primarily:

  1. Bought an Apple Watch on October 17, 2017. I have closed all three rings literally EVERY day since.
  2. I downloaded MyFitnessPal and started logging what I ate. Targeted a 500 cal daily deficit and (surprise surprise) lost an average of 1lb of fat per week (7 days x 500 cals = 3,500 cals = 1lb of fat). Didn’t worry much about macros at first, but eventually learned that 40/30/30 macro percentages made it easier to feel energized and full with 2,000 daily cals.
  3. I joined the CrossFit cult and now every morning feels like I’m meeting my friends at the playground and we’re all a sweaty mess when it’s over… just like when I was a kid.

If you’re gaining fat, you’re taking in more cals than you’re putting out — full stop.

CrossFit Before and After Story: 5 months progress, ~5 classes a week with no diet change

I was shocked today when I compared these photos, the first was taken 1 month in and the current was today which is 5 months in. I haven’t seen much changes on the scale and was getting a little discouraged but whoah, I can see and feel the differences. Next step is cleaning up my diet and just getting stronger every day (:

CrossFit Before and After Story: My weight loss journey from 265 Lb to185Lb

The picture time line is for the gap of two years. I had my own labs and go back to the journey of weight loss and healthy leaving but now it becomes the lifestyle, you need to just give it a time and don’t expect to do it over short period of the time. We didn’t gain it overnight, it took time. Believe me I loved French fries 🍟 over salad before. But now I don’t even craw it.

Little by little I give more respect to my body and cut feeding my body with junk food. Believe me my life changed so much, I feel younger and happier.

CrossFit Before and After Story: Progress over 2.5 years – consistency is everything. My main strength is not really strength, or speed, or gymnastics, or anything in particular – I’m not the “best” athlete at my gym. I work really hard, I move really well, and I’m very consistent, that’s my strength.

CrossFit Before and After Story: My 9 month CrossFit transformation 🤯

I have achieved way more than I thought I had in me. My box has had outdoor WODs during the entire winter as well, helped a lot with the motivation. Achieved so many firsts and new lifts that helped motivate me as well

CrossFit Before and After Story: This has been a mother fucker year. Divorce, depression, unemployment, and admitting/conquering alcoholism. I firmly believe that CrossFit is saving my life. Super proud of my six month progress. Happy New Year, fellow CrossFitters.

CrossFit Before and After Story: losing the weight has helped with a lot of my movements including running, pull-ups, and I have also just recently gotten my muscle ups down pretty good. Ive never really cared to lift really heavy but I have noticed that a lot of endurance type workouts have gotten a lot quicker and more efficient which is nice.
